The Key to Getting Your Message Out
There is a common misconception amongst those new to internet marketing: create a product, sell a lot of it, and get rich. Often, that isn’t the case. They create it, they don’t sell a lot of product, and they don’t become rich. Most of these people have left out one key component to internet marketing: blogging.
The author of a well written blog is often viewed by readers as an expert in his or her field. By providing the audience with valuable information and/or resources, the author builds up trust and a sense of community with his or her readers. People tend to buy from those who provide value and who they trust.
I started blogging the hard way. Back in 2008, I created Money In Your Jeans. I simply used a WordPress template to put together a blog about financial literacy. I’ll be honest; I didn’t do a lot of marketing research before I started the blog. I had recently quit working as a financial advisor and quite frankly, I had a bee in my bonnet – I was out to show the world that I was the expert in financial literacy. If I would have done my research, I would have realized that most parents want schools to teach their kids about money. Long story short, if I had done my research, I would have found my niche market (teachers looking to create educational products) much sooner.

You don’t have to go through the hurdles that I did when I first started my blog, because there is help out there.
